This document specifies a method for determination of potassium (content from 0.3 μg/g to 50 μg/g), sodium (content from 0.1 μg/g to 50 μg/g), calcium (content from 0.03 μg/g to 50 μg/g), magnesium (content from 0.01 μg/g to 50 μg/g), iron (content from 0.03 μg/g to 50 μg/g) and silicon (content from 1μg/g to 1000 μg/g) in polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based carbon fibre with inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.

The document is also applicable to the determination of other trace elements in polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibre and its composite materials.
